Inclusion
At Abbey View Primary School inclusion means everyone can achieve, thrive and belong - LEARNING TODAY…LEADING TOMORROW
Everyone Belongs at Abbey View Primary Academy
At Abbey View Primary Academy, we believe that every child is unique, valued and important. We are committed to creating a warm, inclusive academy where every child feels welcome, supported and confident to flourish.
We celebrate the diversity of our academy community and believe that every child should have the same opportunities to learn, grow and succeed, whatever their background, ability, needs, faith or identity. Every child is listened to, respected and encouraged to take part fully in academy life.
Supporting Every Learner
Our teaching is designed to meet the needs of every child. Teachers regularly check how children are learning and use this information to adapt their teaching, resources and classroom environment. This helps every child to access the curriculum, overcome barriers to learning and make progress.
For children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we take a child-centred approach. We work closely with children and their families to identify needs early and provide the right support at the right time. Where appropriate, we also work with external professionals and ensure our staff have the knowledge and skills to support every child to thrive.
For children who receive the Pupil Premium Funding we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or starting point. At our academy, we are committed to ensuring that no child is disadvantaged and that financial circumstances are never a barrier to learning, achievement, or aspiration.
We are committed to ensuring that pupils who are looked after (LAC), or who have previously been looked after, receive the high-quality education and pastoral support they need to achieve, thrive and belong.
Celebrating Languages and Cultures
We are proud of the many languages, cultures and experiences represented in our academy. For children who are learning English as an Additional Language (EAL), we provide support to develop both academic and everyday language skills, helping them communicate confidently and participate fully in academy life.
We celebrate bilingualism and recognise the valuable contribution that different languages and cultures make to our academy community.
Helping Every Child to Thrive
Our inclusive approach is built on kindness, respect and positive relationships. We want every child to feel that they belong, that their voice matters and that they can achieve their very best.
Through high-quality teaching, personalised support and a curriculum that celebrates every child, we help our pupils to become confident, compassionate and respectful individuals who are ready to make a positive difference in the world.
