Looked After Children
At Abbey View Primary School inclusion means everyone can achieve, thrive and belong - LEARNING TODAY…LEADING TOMORROW
We are committed at Abbey View Primary Academy to ensuring that pupils who are looked after (LAC), or who have previously been looked after, receive the high-quality education and pastoral support they need to achieve, thrive and belong. We aim to promote wellbeing, raise attainment and reduce barriers to learning.
We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap and ensuring that all children achieve their full potential through high quality teaching, an accessible curriculum and additional support. We also seek advice and support from outside agencies, where appropriate.
Abbey View offers pastoral support tailored to individual needs, including mentoring, small-group nurture, and access to counselling or external services where required. We strive to be trauma-informed in our approach, recognising the particular emotional and social needs of children in care.
