Year 2

A very warm welcome to Year 2’s page!

In Year 2, we strive to make all children feel safe, secure and confident, both in their learning and in their school life. Our learning journey encompasses many exciting activities including: Bring your Wheels to School Day, calendar making, The Great Fire of London materials project and much more!

We want our children to leave Year 2 feeling independent, motivated and have high expectations. We aim to achieve this through an engaging curriculum that includes challenge and variety.  The Academy motto – Learning today, Leading tomorrow- and our 5Rs (resourcefulness, relationships, resilience, risk-taking and reflectiveness) are embedded in all that we do and are what make AVPA children excellent learners.

We also acknowledge the importance of fostering a close school/home partnership, where parents are actively involved in their child’s learning, therefore look forward to embarking on this journey with you.
